Anne Martin

Anne joined Northwestern’s Office for Research in 2013.  Her current role is Assistant Vice President for Research, finance and business operations. She oversees and sets priorities for units within the office that have cross-unit responsibilities, including Financial Administration, Research IT, HR Administration, and Research Analytics.

She supports the office's budget and strategic planning goals and projects future financial needs based on institutional priorities. In these efforts, she works collaboratively with the Office for Budget and Planning, the Office of the Provost, and the schools.

Her diverse background includes managing her own consultancy targeting corporate finance for small- to mid-size companies, working in the large corporate environment, and in the public accounting field.   Anne spent 14 years in senior finance roles at Baxter International.  Her concentration was financial reporting and planning though she worked across the matrix environment of sales, marketing, operations, and corporate. 

Her roles at Baxter included Director of Financial Reporting & Planning for the Medical Products Division, and Director of Global Financial Planning. She completed her career at Baxter as Assistant Treasurer.  Prior to Baxter, Anne worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. She is a registered Certified Public Accountant.  Anne holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration in accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in management from the Kellogg School at Northwestern.
