Amy Weber

Amy Weber is Northwestern University’s Senior Director of the Export Control & International Compliance office. Amy served as a career analyst with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in various leadership roles, including leading the FBI’s national counterintelligence analysis in Washington, D.C. Her team was responsible for briefing federal policymakers and strengthening the research enterprise while engaging in international partnerships. Before joining the federal government, Amy was a litigation consultant and worked as a market research analyst for a Fortune 500 financial services company. After retiring from the FBI, Amy joined the higher education industry to assist researchers in navigating the complex regulatory environment that informs their work. In supporting this community, Amy strives to provide services and guidance that enable faculty to focus on their high-impact scientific investigations. Before joining Northwestern, Amy served as a Senior Export Control Analyst at the University of Arizona, where she earned her master’s degree in legal studies.
